Appalachian Arts Hub Logo

Art is essential.

The drive to learn and create has always been with us as beings and is something that must be nurtured.

Appalachian Arts Hub (AAH) is a subsidiary to our pottery, holding space for various workshops of all manner of medium and focus, continuing education classes, events, and as a third space for anyone seeking the elbow room to get creative and make a mess or a masterpiece.

Art is for everyone.

Our aim with AAH is to continue expanding access to art, education, and community. This will be accomplished by providing supplies and local art for sale through our retail service, creating greater access to our current drop-in classes, offering use of the Hub for workshops and classes, as well as day use of community materials and equipment for participating members. Finally, a large focus of the Hub will be to offer our space as an Arts Haven for artisans displaced by Hurricane Helene. We hope to offer space, supplies, and donations to help our fellow artists heal and thrive in the wake of such devastation.

  • We are building our mercantile and retail space to sell art supplies and artists wares within our space.

  • Our model for AAH is similar to our main studio insofar as we are collectivizing costs and space of art supplies. Leather and woodworking tools, collage, fiber arts, sewing, and more will be supported in-studio for participants to make use of.

OUTREACH

Our outreach focus will be to provide up-to-date lists of needed items, receive, sort, and deliver donations to counties in need. We want to support a community-to-community connection with places continuing to struggle with this disaster in a way that provides as much autonomy and agency through recovery as possible.

Haven @ The Hub Logo

Appalachian Arts Hub will open its doors to artists and artisans affected by Hurricane Helene seeking resources and/or workspace to continue their craft. As we develop the Hub, our offerings for use of materials and tools will expand. Further, we want to offer a community pantry and supply for free use and access.
